
I view therapy as a collaborative effort to understand problems and conflicts, identify realistic goals and take advantage of strengths and strategies that promote change. While the focus is often on current issues, understanding the influence of past experiences and relationships is an important part of the process.
I have many years of experience working with individuals and couples of all ages and genders, including college students, recent graduates, faculty members and people involved in business and the arts. I often work with people in transition on issues related to work, relationships and the impact of change or loss.
Change, planned or otherwise, often creates stress and anxiety. It is also a unique opportunity for personal growth and development. I offer an active, supportive and solution oriented approach to a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts and school or work-related problems.
My approach is straightforward and engaged and I have a real sense of humor. In addition to offering individual psychotherapy, I am an experienced couples therapist.
